Drupal for Dummies insight

I'm the author, Lynn Beighley, on Twitter as @lynnbeighley. (Somehow my correct last name went missing for a week or so, but it's back now.) I'm not reviewing the book here, so much as contributing some insight on the intended audience.

The Publisher's comments I found on Powell's site (http://www.powells.com/biblio/9780470556115) do an excellent job of summing my book up:

For readers who have purchased technical, code-filled tomes on Drupal and still can't figure out how to just get started, Drupal For Dummies throws out a lifeline While it's true that Drupal provides an extensible framework to programmatically extend a website, everyone has to start somewhere. Before readers can go about modifying the Drupal code base by writing PHP scripts and creating their own custom themes, they first have to download Drupal, install the LAMP stack; organize and create their site's content; apply templates, get their first site up and running, and administer the site. That's precisely what Drupal For Dummies shows readers how to do, and much more Designed for non-programmers, Drupal For Dummies shows readers how to take advantage of everything in Drupal that is ready to use, including modules and third-party templates. For those readers who have been tapped to administer a Drupal site designed and programmed by a third-party developer, Drupal For Dummies provides the plain English instructions necessary to make changes across the site, manager user access and privileges, and many other high-frequency administrative tasks.

Whether readers are looking to implement a flexible content management system, turbocharge a blog with photo galleries, or administer a third-party Drupal site, Drupal For Dummies is the perfect book to get off to a running start.
